Governor Haley Barbour has once again gained a little on the money side of the table. Barbour might not have gained as much as the month of June, but $189,000 dollars is no chump change for the month of July. For the month of June, Barbour raised $900,000 dollars, but compared to his July total, its just a drop in the bucket. Is this a sign of a popularity drop? I think so.
Barbour was in Japan for several weeks in July and some say that his absents at fund raisers hurt his gains for the month. I have not got the feed on Eaves money gain for July yet, but I will sometime today. I would predict that Eaves will have raised more money for July than June since he was at the Neshoba Co. Fair and hopefully Eaves got needed funding from home grown Mississippians to help in his race.
I know money is the key in any campaign, but when the Gov. calls a couple of his past customers for donations, they come running with a blank check. There is a problem here. These big businesses like tobacco and insurance companies don't know the problems in Mississippi nor do they really care. They are glad to give to someone who coaxed politicians to vote for their interests. Why can't the money come from Mississippi? Because Barbour knows that it would be too close of a race and would never trust Mississippians to give him the money he needs to win. Eaves on the other hand has done just that. He has put trust in our state and people to help with the monetary needs of winning an election. Though he does not have the money that Barbour does, but at least we know its coming from the people that will be at the polls and will benefit from Eaves becoming elected.
Barbour knows that when someone scratches your back you then must scratch theirs and Barbour will return the favor in some sneaky way. Eaves knows this and that's why he talks about the "Money Changers" in all of his speeches. These companies will have some impact on our state in the future in some form or fashion and knowing our Gov, it can't be a good thing. What positive things can tobacco and insurance companies do for our state? Read the headlines, its clear. The coast is still in shambles due to insurance companies, and tobacco companies coaxed Barbour to pull money from Healthy Mississippi. Don't start me on oil companies with their gas prices. When will it end? The day Barbour is out of office!!

Welcome to the Neshoba Political Fair. Republicans Welcome!!
If anyone went to the Neshoba Co. Fair you all know of the huge Republican turn out with campaign signs and all. I was so tired of seeing Phil for this, Al for that, Haley for this, Charlie that and so on and so fourth. It seems that when you walk into the fair you must show your Republican donation receipt to get in. I know its a huge campaign stop for anyone running for something, but it has gotten out of hand. I saw some campaigners tearing off signs to put theirs in place. After entering you get bombarded by the "Sticker People" wanting you to wear their righteous campaign crap and if you do take one don't take it off!! Because the moment you do they they are again like a political horror movie.
After walking around awhile you finally see a way out of the political tension. Ahhh....The racetrack. Nothing like seeing a good ole horse race with a $3.00 hot dog in one and a $3.50 Coke in the other. After sitting about 5 minutes, here they come again. Not only do you have to wear a shirt, sticker, hat, or flap a Haley fan, you now must have some Haley Barbour water to wash it all down. After the water incident, I was waiting for a Haley hot dog or funnel cake, but no luck. I mean, come on people!!! I just want to watch the damn race with out having to take a political stand.
The fair is fun, don't get me wrong, but during the election years you might want to take a rain check. If you must go to Neshoba Co. during an election year, go to the water park instead. There is just as much hot air there as is at the fair.

Not just another political blog!!
The political world of Mississippi has been overrun with big business ideas and big money games while leaving the citizens to starve on the scraps from the Republicans. This blog is a new voice for the new movement of Mississippi and this blog is to aid people of the working class in changing Mississippi for the better. Big business is not the driving force of our state!! The people of Mississippi are the heart and soul of every part of the state and should be respected for it. Our power hungry governor has bled our state of needed attention by bowing down to the powers outside the state and putting their interests before our own needs. I am sick and tired of our state having to suffer because of our republican interests instead of our states interests. If you are tired of one man, “Haley” running our state at his own will and if you are tired of money being the only interest of our leadership, then hop on board. I am trying to get the word out about our state needing new leadership across the board. Haley has had his four years, now it’s time for someone to take charge of the states needs, wants and priorities and do what is right for the state, and not governor.
